Heres something that has been on my mind.

There are some instances where I see friends posting prayer requests on my Facebook newsfeed asking friend’s support. 

Sadly, I mostly see responses like “praying” or perhaps even a couple “likes” if the request is legitimate enough.

Prayer shouldn’t be regulated as “optional support” but it should be a partnership between the askee and the supporters. Whenever I ask for people’s prayer support on my facebook, it is a cry for help and is something that is very important to me.

When the church body begins to support each other in the small but essential things, power and breakthrough will be witnessed.

Prayer is a discipline and requires the work of faithful people in order to reflect the character of a Faithful God.  I find it easy to simply say a quick prayer for a person and then forgetting about it a couple minutes later.

But if keeping somebody in prayer is too hard to do (because tbh, it is for me!), just be a decent friend. One can simply show support by coming along side a person, maybe that means sending a text, keeping up with the person in need, or simply just hanging out to show that you care.

Be the church.
